We are seeking experienced cyclists to become certified instructors. Partnering with Cycling Canada and the ABA, we’re expanding education across Alberta. Alberta Bike Swap will cover Level 5 workshop fees for those completing Level 4.

SCHOOL'S OUT SKILLS UP PD DAY CAMPS

We are excited to announce that our PD Day School Out, Skills Up sessions are back for

both March and April .

Our Surge Basketball camps emphasize fundamental skill development, game concepts, and confidence-building through on-court instruction, competitive drills, and small-sided gameplay. Led by experienced coaches, our sessions focus on teaching the game the right way while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive connection to basketball both on and off the court.

Schedule:​
β€’Friday, March 27th - We will be returning to Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School for an exciting,

action-packed day of skill-building.

β€’Friday, April 24th - We will be returning to Winsport at their newly renovated Winsport Gymnasium

for a fun-filled day of hoops.)

Stay active this spring - Calgary Juniors Ultimate Youth Spring Program

Junior Spring Skills & Scrimmages Program, an affordable and fun way to keep kids active this spring. Runs from April 22 to June 21!​
​
​Program highlights:​
β€’ Open to kids ages 8–18 (no experience required)
β€’ Focus on throwing, catching, offense, defense, and lots of game play
β€’ Inclusive environment with players grouped by age and ability
β€’ Emphasis on fun, learning, and staying active.
​
​Cost (for the full 9-week program):​
β€’ One day per week: $120 + GST total​
β€’ Both days per week: $200 + GST total

Schedule:​
β€’ Wednesdays: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm (Queen Elizabeth School)
β€’ Sundays: 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm (Andrew Sibbald School, Lake Bonavista)

2026 Calgary Spring Shells Football Camp

A high-level, position-specific development experience designed to help athletes sharpen skills, build confidence, and prepare for the upcoming season.

The camp is open to athletes ages 7–15 (age as of January 1, 2026). Drills are progressed or regressed based on age and skill level so that newer athletes build confidence and fundamentals, while advanced athletes are pushed to find another gear.

Athletes will train in shells (helmet + shoulder pads + shorts) and work through:

β€’ Position-specific skill work
β€’ Movement mechanics
β€’ Controlled competition
β€’ Film review

YYC Adaptive Coach Training​
Coming next month, Sport Calgary is excited to collaborate with Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) and Soccability Canada! CMSA and Soccability is offering a structured adaptative coaching workshop β€” it’s not too late to join!

Soccability Canada is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 with a mission to make soccer accessible to individuals of all abilities. Guided by a dedicated volunteer board, we are committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to play soccer in their community and explore further opportunities within the sport.
​
CMSA is the governing body of youth soccer in Calgary here to support their Member Clubs as well as provide opportunities for all participants in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. CMSA is responsible for scheduling league games, hosting post-season play and tournaments, providing coach education and resources, and offering referee mentorship and support while working with our stakeholders to grow soccer in Calgary.

What is Prescription to Get Active (RxTGA), and how does it connect to our upcoming All Sport One City event?

RxTGA gives Albertans the opportunity to try physical activity at no cost, supporting physical, mental, and social well-being through movement. With a prescription from a healthcare provider, participants receive free trial access to local sport, recreation, and fitness facilities.

Through our partnership with Sport Calgary’s All Sport One City event, families can explore new activities and continue them afterwards by finding a participating prescriber and requesting an RxTGA prescription.

​KidSport Grant​

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Calgary & Area provides grants of up to $500 per eligible child, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.
