Sport calgary leadership update and message

On April 22, Sport Calgary introduced new leadership at the Sport Calgary Annual General Meeting.

Candice Goudie was welcomed as the incoming President of Sport Calgary with a strong background in sport leadership and community building.

I am honored to join and support a sector that plays such an important role in the fabric of our city. Calgary’s sport community is driven by passionate organizations, leaders, coaches, officials, volunteers, and participants who create opportunities for connection, belonging, wellness, and excellence every day. Calgary is a sports city - and it is full of people and organizations that work tirelessly to make a real impact in lives and communities.Sport Calgary has a unique role to convene, collaborate, advocate, and help strengthen the sector as we collectively navigate growth, demand, accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability. I am excited to listen, learn, and work alongside all of you as we continue building a strong and vibrant sport community that benefits Calgarians of all ages and backgrounds. Thank you for the work you do and for the impact you make across our city. I could not be more excited to be a part of this team.

Introducing Performance Testing at Group23...Know Your Readiness!

Group23 is excited to announce that Performance Testing is now available to all patients.

This new service uses advanced force-plate technology and isometric testing to assess strength, balance, power, and movement symmetry. The results provide patients with clear, objective insights into recovery progress and readiness to return to sport.

Whether returning from injury, working to prevent future issues, or seeking to better understand performance, this testing delivers meaningful data to inform training and rehabilitation decisions.

The program is open to Group23 patients and can be accessed by booking directly through Group23. For more information, please contact info@group23.ca or visit our website.

Not every MVP wears a jerseyβ€”some wear volunteer badges.

As we prepare for a fun-filled summer, we are reaching out to volunteers who is interested to be a part of All Sport One Day on June 20 and August 15, 2026.

You are welcome to volunteer for one or both event dates. Roles include a 1-hour onboarding session prior to the event and up to a full-day commitment on event day (approximately 8:00 a.m. to 3:30pm). Shifts can be determined at the time of sign up. While sport experience is a bonus, it is not required. Depending on the role, being comfortable interacting with the public and having strong communication skills are valuable assets.

If you are interested to volunteer this year, please complete* the All Sport One Day Interest form linked below!

*The form will remain open until a week before the event

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for the official sign-up for All Sport One Day.
